The Generous Life

A lot of people have a good idea of what needs to stop when they become a Christian: the old sinful ways of living! (sexual immorality, selfishness, drunkeness, anger, unforgiveness etc.) But many Christians have no idea what to do with their lives now. We want to help you understand that your new life in Christ is not a life of boredom or trying to "stay out of trouble". Your new life in Christ is a life on MISSION: you have a purpose in this world!  We use the words "service and generosity" to describe this new kind of life because it is identified by three primary things...

SERVING- The new life of a believer is a life of serving & loving others as Jesus serves and loves us. Every Christian should be invovled in a ministry where they can serve others in need. When you do this you will discover a new passion, joy and purpose in your life.

GIVING- The new life of a believer is a life of giving: we cheerfully give back to God because He gave everything to us.  We give not only of our time and love, but also of our financial resources. Faithful worship giving honors God and helps fund ministries that impact people for Jesus Christ in our church, our city and our world.

SHARING- The new life of a believer is a life of sharing the gospel. Ultimately we know that the greatest gift you could give someone else is not a helping hand or a financial gift...it's the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Because God has saved us and transformed us, we want to share that with other people.

We want to invite you to discover what this life of "service and generosity" is all about. We have many opportunities here at exile for you to serve in the church, the city and around the world. We also have opportunities for you to give to God's work in the world and to share your faith with those around you.
