Common Questions

When and where do they meet?

Small groups meet in host homes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Most groups meet 7:00 - 8:30pm. Meeting in homes creates a warm, friendly atmosphere for sharing life together.

What does a typical night look like?

Each small group will look different, but a typical night will look something like this: welcome / snacks / hang out / Bible study / discussion / prayer. There will also be special nights throughout the semester where small groups will serve together downtown or go do something fun together (movie night, lazer tag, bowling, video games, bbq…you guys decide)

What will we study?

Each week the small group curriculum with be an extension of the message the week before. The small group time is not a repeat of the message but a way to study the topic more in depth, and discuss more practical ways to live the message out in your everyday life.

What about my leader?

Exile has incredible college age and post-college volunteers who are ready to encourage, teach, guide, and help strengthen your walk with Christ.

What is the Small Group Commitment?

Being part of a Small Group is a privilege. We expect each Small Group member to commit to the following:

1.   Respect and be kind to others in your group. Small groups aren’t a place to be clique, they are a place to connect with everyone in the group. Also, when people share struggles in their life we expect people to keep that within the group. Gossip is not tolerated. Small groups are a safe place to share.

2.   Come to group consistently and prepared. Make it a priority to attend small group. Every week come with a bible, your sermon notes and a good attitude.

3.   Respect your small group leader. They are giving you their time because they WANT to connect with you and minister to you.

4.   Respect your Host Home. Help clean-up your host home at the end of every night.
